Venture Capital Associate / Senior Associate

We are hiring an Associate or Senior Associate to work with the Venture Capital team to conduct market research, source and evaluate investment opportunities, and support portfolio companies. This is an early career role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate has worked 2+ years in startup product management or go-to-market functions, and 1 to 2 years as an Analyst or Associate at an early-stage venture firm. He or she is a high-energy self-starter who builds trusted relationships with investors and founders, generates consistent deals for our investment team, understands approaches to building products and companies, and drives value for founders through professional insights and special projects. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess new market trends to inform our sector and business model focus.

  • Actively source deals and manage our pipeline. Build relationships across startups, venture capital firms, startup accelerators, service providers, leading tech institutions, and other ecosystem partners, including with faith-driven stakeholders.

  • Authentically represent our mission at industry events and conferences across the U.S. 

  • Diligence and execute deals alongside the investment team by evaluating thesis fit, financial models, leadership quality, business execution, and other relevant variables.

  • Serve as a committed partner to portfolio teams as they navigate the entrepreneurial journey. Discern what makes portfolio companies unique and how we can support their growth trajectories through consulting projects and various engagements.

  • Support internal firm operations, including quarterly reporting, fund administration, marketing efforts, portfolio gatherings, annual meetings, and platform operations. 

Qualifications for Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computer science, engineering, or related field.

  • 3-5+ years of relevant product management and VC experience.

  • Existing network in the San Francisco Bay Area’s startup ecosystem.

  • Working knowledge of startups and VC, including deal structures and valuation models.

  • Flexibility to travel 10% to 40% of the time, and attend evening industry events.  

  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.

  • Independent and self-starting spirit, a proactive drive to figure things out and execute with excellence, and a willingness to do the work to accomplish the mission.

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, mission-driven setting.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience ($90,000 - $140,000)

  • Possibility of annual bonus based on performance
