Fund Accountant

The Fund Accountant will play a meaningful role in supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across our fund complex.
This role is well suited to someone who takes pride in precise, well organized work and who wants to grow their understanding of private equity and venture capital fund structures within a small, collaborative, and mission-driven team.
Essential Functions
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements for assigned fund entities in accordance with GAAP and ASC 946.
• Support capital call, distribution, and capital account calculations, and confirm that management fee and expense allocations align with LPA terms and side letters.
• Partner day-to-day with the firm's outsourced fund administration team to keep books and records for assigned entities accurate and current.
• Assist with preparing quarterly LP reporting, capital account statements, and ad hoc investor requests.
• Support the annual audit cycle, including preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor questions, and helping resolve open items.
• Assist with the quarterly tax cycle by gathering workpapers and coordinating information requests with outside tax preparers.
• Support the quarterly valuation process by compiling documentation and supporting schedules for review by the Manager, Fund Accounting and CFO.
• Assist with bank compliance reporting and covenant calculations as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation.
Required Skills and Abilities
• A strong cultural fit with our vision, mission, and values.
• A solid working knowledge of private equity or venture capital fund accounting, including GAAP and ASC 946 reporting requirements. Knowledge of tax accounting will be considered favorably as well.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple funds and deadlines at once.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, well-documented work.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with a fund accounting platform (e.g., Investran, eFront, or a comparable system) is a plus.
• A self-motivated, proactive approach, with the ability to work well independently in a small, entrepreneurial team.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum Work Experience
At least three years of fund accounting experience, ideally within private equity or venture capital.
Compensation
• Competitive base salary (or contractor payment), commensurate with experience.
• Eligibility for an annual, discretionary bonus.
