Analyst/Associate, Fund of Funds

The Analyst/Associate, Fund of Funds, will play a pivotal role in supporting all aspects of the investment process, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio reporting and interfacing with General Partners. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the entire lifecycle of private equity fund investments while contributing to the growth and success at Sovereign’s Capital. Our fund of funds and co-investment strategy invests in primaries, secondaries, GP stakes, and direct co-investments across venture and private equity, both in the U.S. and abroad. As the firm continues to expand, we are seeking to add a world-class Analyst/Associate to our team.

Essential Functions:

  • Support Culture: Embody the firm’s overall culture as we seek to live out our company’s vision, mission, and values.

  • Deal Origination: Collaborate with fund of funds investment team members to source and meet with prospective private investment managers globally.

  • Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on pipeline managers and co-investments, authoring due diligence reports as needed, including financial modeling, market research, competitive landscape assessment, and risk assessment, to evaluate potential investments. Manage data room governance, data requests, and documentation from diligence through final close.

  • Manager Tracking: Contribute to the enhancement of Sovereign’s Capital investment manager database, updating information and cross-referencing details.

  • Industry Research: Stay informed on industry trends and capital market research related to private investments, providing relevant data and commentary.

  • Portfolio Management: Support the management and monitoring of existing portfolio investments, including analyzing quarterly performance and reporting. Attend annual meetings and interface with General Partners on behalf of Sovereign’s Capital.

  • Investor Relations: Assist in preparing fundraising materials, investor reports, and updates to communicate investment performance and insights to limited partners as a supplement to the formal Investor Relations team.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in Investment Consulting, Fund of Funds investing, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful deal execution.

  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills with fluency in financial statements.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, and investment principles.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment tools

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, diligence, and manage investment opportunities.

  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data and trends.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, management teams, and investors.

  • Strong business writing and communication skills.

  • Desire to work hard and do timely and excellent work.

  • High degree of humility and integrity.

  • Practive/self starter
